DIRECTORS NOTES: Ms. Potato Head was a very fun project. Rehearsal all the way through production was amazing putting this artwork together. I wrote the story to inspire all the young adult women to not be insecure about  who you are and what you look like. My daughter struggle with how she is skinny and don't fit in so I had to help her deal with this so I was inspired to do something that wound inspire many young adult women with this issue. We used the Canon 60d DSLR Camera to shoot with and H4N Audio device. In post-production I had a chance to learn about color correction and I learned a lot. This was a great film that taught me much about interacting with median sides crew to editing struggles and more but our ultimate goal is to inspire young adult women that there is hope in Love and Life and to inspire movie creators that creating is Sky Is the Limit.

THE BUS STOP- is the third collaboration project between Djuan Ballinger Studio’s and Southern Vision Entertainment. After the lost of the footage of Talking P, Djuan step to me about his next idea for a short film. I agreed to do it if we can reshoot Talking P again, he agreed also. So we started pre-production on the project in April 2016. In May 2016 production started for a one day shoot. Djuan starred in this project and built a cast of three wonderful actors and actresses to co star. Filming went very well for six hours and we manage to get a city bus to stop at the bus stop to grab a quick shot of the actress getting on the bus. The driver of the bus was unhappy. I used the Canon 60d camera with regular lens and also the H4N Audio device. No lighting was required for the outdoor filming. I spent three weeks in post production and the film was finished early June. After this project D.B.S. and S.V.E. parted ways to move on to do other short films. The Bus Stop short film got a chance to preview at the Tallahassee Local Preview Event in August 2016. Enjoy “The Bus Stop” short film.

UNLOCK- is a short film collaboration between Djuan Ballinger Studio’s and Southern Vision Entertainment. My good friend Djuan and I met late October 2015 to discuss a short film he had in mind. After talking and connecting our passion and drive to make movies we decided to enter a two picture movie deal with “Unlock” and Talking P short films. Early November 2015 after pre-production was done on the project we sat out to film “Unlock”. Djuan wrote the script and he was to star in the movie and he did all the casting which turned out to be a wonderful amazing cast with many first time actors. I ended up being the director, and cinematographer and editor of this project. The production phase went so well. Actors were ready to deliver their lines and the behind the scene crew was professional. Djuan did an amazing job producing this film. I shot this film with the Cannon 60d camera regular lens that comes with it and H4N Audio device. Djuan decided by December 2015 that he wanted to have a red carpet preview of the film which turned out to be an amazing night at the movies eight movie theater in late January. We all had tuxedoes and rode in a limousine to the “Unlock” movie preview. Djuan sold tickets and packed out the 220 seat theater that night and afterward we had a party at club 1 of 1. The short film “Unlock” was picked up in the Winter Heaven Film Festival in 2016. Djuan and I had a chance to drive there and attend the preview at the festival, we had an awesome time. Meanwhile, after this we sat our sight on our next movie deal “Talking P”. Talking P was a success all the way up to post preproduction. Unfortunately I stored Talking P footage on an external hard drive and did not back up the footage and the hard drive suddenly stopped working. The hard drive was sent off to a recovery lap but the footage was unrecoverable. One the most heart breaking things I have been through as a filmmaker. Lesson learned always back your footage up! Besides all that happened “Unlock” become a successful short film. Enjoy “Unlock” the short film.

I SHOULD HAVE LEARNED- summer of 2015 we decided to film this project. The screenplay was written in 2004 and was the very first script written for Southern Vision Entertainment to get us off the ground and filming constantly. With this story I tried to bring awareness to the issue of you know some people out there who may have had a one night stand with someone they met in the club and end up getting a baby out of the situation or just have a child with someone they are not together trying to make it work, I wanted to show how it’s both people responsibility to step up and make it work to raise the child in the best way possible without the foolishness issues rather you are together or not. We used Canon 60d DSLR camera and h4n audio device. The film shoot was two days with the interiors shots on Saturday and exterior shots on Sunday. We had fun and laugh much thanks to all who was a part of this project.

SOUTHERN VISION ENTERTAINMENT Presents An J.D. RAMSEY Production “WOMEN & ATTITUDE” Starring ALLAN-MICHAEL GUTHRIES, ” CLEVELAND GIBSON, ACE BOONE KOONE, J.D.  DIRECTOR’S NOTES: JD Ramsey

WOMEN & ATTITUDE- Was a part of our three movie summer shoot in 2014. It was the last film we shot that summer and had lots of fun doing it. Women & Attitude script was written between 2004-2008 and also alone with many other screenplays’ we shot over the years. We shot this using Canon 60d camera. This story I want to try to bring awareness about women looking for bad boys instead of good boys and men looking for pretty girls instead of good girls. When I first moved to Tally I use to hear women say they wanted a thug not good boy. I was like huh? Because I had just left a life of streets and underworld and my friend and I wanted out to live better life’s, and final I made it out to hear that you women only wanted thugs. To me it was non-sense and I felt women just wanted to be like other  girls they see in the media. So I was inspired to write this story to show both men and women where we wrong in our views of each other and hope this project would begin to change the mind set of people who think like this so please don’t judge me. This was a difficult project to cast because of the many cast member needed. We were two character’s short and this time around I had to play a major character in this film. So this was my first time trying to direct and act in a film I wrote. I hated it, but I had to do what I had to do so we could complete our summer movie trilogy. Shot out to all cast members who were in this project I missed y’all and want to continue to work with y’all.

SOUTHERN VISION ENTERTAINMENT Presents An J.D. RAMSEY Production “THE BRIEFCASE” Starring WIL TILEY, ZYHEART HALL, RAHSAAN JONES, SHERRON D FLAGG, ZACK BANKS, YVES REGIS, CLEVELAND GIBSON, WILLIAM LINCOLN JR. and JERMAINE SCOTT. Production Manager TARA BATES Edited J.D. RAMSEY Director of Photography J.D. RAMSEY Executive Producers J.D. RAMSEY & PHILLIP JACKSON JR., Written & Directed By J.D. RAMSEY

DIRECTOR’S NOTES: JD Ramsey

THE BRIEFCASE- I wrote the Briefcase script back in 1999 around the time I was graduating from film school. After joining the Space Coast filmmakers group after college and we sat out to raise money for the project and were unsuccessful. The script ended up in my script stash until 2014 when I revise to fit the location of Tallahassee to where I moved. I scouted out the locations and decided to go for it. 2014 we decided to have a three movie production shoot that summer. We started in May with Drama Episode 4, June with The Briefcase and July with Women & Attitudes short films. The Briefcase film was a challenging film to cast and we were two cast members short. We shot it at the end of June and had lot of fun on a two day shoot. Camera we use is DSLR Canon 60d and H4n Audio device. I was the only guy behind the scenes running the show. The production manager Will Tiley had step up and wanted to play the character John which was fine with me, we rather be two characters short than three. We learned a lot about filming that summer as we challenged ourselves to make three short films in three months. Lots of work but fun and help us grow as filmmakers. The Briefcase will be rebooted in the future, there are two other screenplays that is a part of this story and we have plans to film all three movies back to back all at once with the same cast. Be on the lookout for casting information if you want to be apart.

SOUTHERN VISION ENTERTAINMENT Presents An J.D. RAMSEY Production “FINDER’S KEEPER’S” CURLEY BOUIE JR., ZANK BANKS, ALLAN-MICHAEL GUTHRIES, DENEUVE BRUTIS, DEONDRA GRADY, LANDRICK RUSSELL Production Manager TARA BATES Edited J.D. RAMSEY Director of Photography CHASE WALKS Executive Producers PHILLIP JACKSON JR., J.D. RAMSEY Written & Directed By J.D. RAMSEY

DIRECTOR’S NOTES: JD Ramsey

FINDER’S KEEPER’S (The Director's Cut) was an accident film. In 2013 we sat out to make a silent film to mark a new era for S.V.E., so we wanted to do a silent film like back in the old day the type with the music telling the story. So I met up with my man Chase Walks and talk about him being a director of photography on this film and he agreed. He was shooting with a DLSR Canon 60d with 35mm and 50mm and 85mm lens kit. We got into production and the cast was amazing, they did everything they were told. The shoot lasted for two days. Two months later after trying to find a music composer or a music person with music tracks to see if they wanted to score the film and no one could do it. While up one night looking through the footage I notice that all characters were saying lines to help them play their roles better because we told them that the audio would not be used but we recorded audio anyway. So after editing a draft of the project I notice that it was kind of interested. So I called the main actor (Curley Bouie JR) up and set up a time for him to come over and lay down some voice over tracks that I thought would go good and complete the movie. So he came and laid down the tracks and I downloaded some free music tracks off the internet and the rest is history. This film is one of S.V.E. classic movie! After using the DSLR Camera I purchase one to use for our project from this point on. I love the quality.

“LOST IT ALL -The Director's Cut” is a story we wanted to see if we could make a modern day biblical story and how would it go down if it happen in today’s times. This movie is base off of JOB story in the bible. I wrote the script in two day and after a month the project was cast in 2011. This film project had some green screen scenes in the original version but it did not turn out how it suppose to look so we created a director’s cut version which is a much bigger version with the help of my good friend Andre Bowers help out much in the editing effects of the film. The film was a two day shoot and we use the Canon XL1, we had much fun putting it together, great cast & crew!

2010 We sat out to make this film to raise peer pressure awareness and to encourage teenagers that they don’t have to follow their friends that make bad decisions but take control of your own situations. Most all of the actors in this project came from the same church I attend. This film shoot was fun and took two days to film the project; we shot it using a Canon XL1 and Palm-Recorder Mini DV camera. This was a great experience and it inspired me to develop a teenager miniseries that will promotion positive peer pressure. Thanks to all cast and crew and people who were involved in this project!
